Why Was My Instructor Application Rejected? | Ostathi Help Center

Why was my application rejected or sent back for changes?

We only decline or return applications when we can’t confidently verify that you can teach the subject/skill you selected or when your profile doesn’t meet our quality and compliance standards. Common reasons include:

  • Insufficient evidence of competence: The documents don’t clearly show you can teach the exact subject/skill (e.g., claiming "IGCSE Physics” with only a generic "STEM workshop” certificate).
  • Unclear or unverifiable documents: Blurry scans, missing issuer details, no certificate/ID number, or links we can’t verify.
  • Mismatch between claims and documents: Subjects, grades, or skills listed in your profile don’t match what your certificates/degree or work evidence actually cover.
  • Name/identity inconsistencies: The name on documents doesn’t match your Ostathi account (and no explanation/ID provided).
  • Language/legibility issues: Documents in a language other than Arabic or English without a translation, or descriptions that are too vague to evaluate.
  • Policy/compliance concerns: Profile text inviting off-platform contact or payments, posting personal contact info, or indications of non-adherence to our Child Protection and platform policies.

How to fix it (actionable checklist):

  • Upload clear, legible evidence that directly matches the subjects/skills you offer (degree transcripts, official certificates with IDs/URLs, letters of experience detailing role, topics taught, and dates).
  • Ensure your profile names the exact subjects/skills and levels/grades you teach and aligns with your documents.
  • Re-upload scans that show the issuer name, dates, and credential ID; add a verification link if available.
  • If your documents aren’t in Arabic/English, attach a brief translation (filename or description is fine).
  • Remove any off-platform contact or payment instructions from your profile.
  • If names differ (e.g., passport vs. certificate), add a short note explaining the difference.

You may re-submit after addressing the feedback.

Warning
Applications may be rejected or returned if the uploaded documents do not clearly prove your expertise in the selected subject or skill, or if your profile includes off-platform contact or payment instructions.
